Cambodia shares its borders with Laos, Vietnam and Thailand. Its coast is along the Gulf of Thailand. It has the largest expanse of water (Tonle Lap) in the whole of South East Asia. The Kingdom’s main claim to fame is that it is home to one of the wonders of the modern world, Angkor Wat. The magnificent temple complex by Siem Reap has long been a favourite tourist site but with Lara Croft, Tombraider the film with Angelina Jolie filmed in part here it has increased the numbers of arrivals greatly. If you are in the neighbourhood then a short side trip to Angkor Wat is a must. You will not be disappointed. |
