Libya is located on the Mediterranean coast of the African continent. It is next to Egypt and below Malta and Italy. In the 70’s and 80’s Libya was viewed as the equivalent of Iraq. From the 90’s onwards, a more mellow approach has been taken and this has successfully led to the removal of the UN sanctions imposed on Libya. Business is booming, relations with the rest of the world are getting stronger (especially with Europe). Please see the links below for further information: Libya is also a good tourist destination as it has been inhabited since the Phoenician times and there are a good selection of excellent ruins. |
